…si si infatti mi garbava il vuoto che viene a crearsi per materializzare il senso della fine, con la traccia video strumento della memoria per un pubblico assente, un gioco di autoreferenzialità in un circolo a spirale di sottrazione che tende verso la mancanza, l’assenza, la morte.

Urtropode performance. Sound, sight and taste are mixed for the participants as a curative therapy, a way to become aware of one’s most inner sensations and to find a new enthusiasm (from the greek word enthusiasmòs “the inner god”). That’s urtropode, it’s everything!!!

Manifestation of the African communities in Florence. One year ago, on dicember 13, two Senegalese men (Diop Mor and Samb Modou) were killed by an Italian xenophobe militant of the extreme right. The crime took place in broad daylight after which the killer took his own life. The Senegalese community has always been among the most numerous and peaceful in Italy.

10 years ago, November 19, 2002, the oil tanker “Prestige” sank in front of Galicia, with a cargo of 77,000 tons of oil. A spontaneous movement of many volunteers started to clean up the coast and combat the oil spill called “Chapapote”. This movement was called Nunca Mais (“Never again” in Galician). The responsibilities were really strong for the shipping company as for the Spanish government, which blamed each other while the ecological disaster was taking place. After that tankers similar to the “Prestige” has been banned on the coast of French and Spain.

Barack Obama won for the second time the US presidential elections.
His victory, over the possibility of a return to the White House for a republican, is definitely positive. The media enhance the enthusiasm of the people but the internal crisis is still heavy. Images of confidence are not enough to solve global problems that remain. The reality is often different.

Per adesso ho solo visto tre foto. Cmq sia a me questo Urtopode da come l’impressione di un emblema della morte. Una raffigurazione umana della fine, di quell’animale, quell’essere che si nutre della fine delle cose. Ovviamente una raffigurazione antropomorfizzata. E nelle foto sembra in attesa, della fine di qualcosa, in sospeso. Forse non è un granché scrivere cosa penso con un doposbronza sulle spalle, ma è la pura verità.

Vajont Dam. 49 years ago, October 9th 1963 at 22:39, a huge landslide falls from Mount Toc into the Vajont artificial reservoir. It moves 50 million cubic meters of water. The dam resists and creates a wave that sticks in the throat of Vajont. In Longarone, 5 km downstream, the clocks stop at 22:42. In a few seconds around 2000 people die. The responsibles were Enel and Sade, after years of continuous negligence in a work which, for obvious security reasons, should not be realized.

Villa Romana is the main center of German culture in Florence. Belonged since 1905 to the German artist Max Klinger, who left it as a center of study and stay for young German artists, who can spend a year working and studying. Since 1905 there is a special prize for young artists.
